• Certification for clinical engineers - The Healthcare Technology Certification Commission provides the infrastructure for United States Board of Examiners for Clinical Engineering Certification. Click here for more information on this program.  Our contact is Frank Painter.
• Public Awareness - The Public and Education Program for Healthcare Technology provides programs for improving our communities use of safer and better health technologies.  A website is being developed to assist the public with such topics as: acquisition of medical devices, electrical safety at your residence, electromagnetic interference, maintenance of medical devices.  Our contacts are Elliot Sloane and Jennifer Ott.
• Clinical Alarms Management and Integration - This program is identifying issues and opportunities to improve clinical alarm design, integration, operation, response and actions.  Click here for more information on this program.  Our contact person is Tobey Clark.
• Clinical Engineering Excellence Institute - The institute provides focus on and the promotion of excellence in the clinical engineering field through recognition programs and awards.  Our contacts are Yadin David and Wayne Morse.
• Benchmarking - Our to be developed benchmarking website we will powerful tool to help identify areas needing improvement and implement change in management of medical devices.  Our contact is Tom Bauld.
• Patient Safety - The patient safety program will develop recommendations on proper safety labeling of medical devices and will provides lists of which devices are properly labeled regarding safe use of it.  Click here for more information on this program. Our contact is Ode Keil.
• Shepherd Patient Safety Award - The annual Patient Safety Award would be given to a deserving clinical engineer/biomedical engineer who has advanced patient safety through the design, use, support, education, and/or management of health care technologies.  That individual could be an inventor, accident investigator, an author, an educator, a promoter of the safe use of technology in health care, and/or other persons with recognized patient safety accomplishments.
